ROBIN MAK
Born and raised in Vancouver, Robin has always been described as artistic and nerdy. Growing up, she designed her own jewelry line, worked as a lifeguard and swimming instructor, and had a keen interest in science. Robin graduated with a Microbiology degree from UBC, after which she focused her artistic talents and interest in science to pursue Dentistry. A 99th percentile in her Carving Dexterity entrance exam helped her follow in her father's footsteps, and she graduated from UBC's Faculty of Dentistry in 2006.

Robin is the principal dentist at Kits Family Dental, where her focus is on families. Her professional philosophy is to achieve and maintain oral health through early prevention. She regularly volunteers at local daycares, such as West Side Family Place, where she provides free screening for cavities, and education to parents about their child's oral health care. Her dedication to community health and volunteer work is exemplified through various channels. Robin works as a sessional dentist providing free dental work for young children at the North Community Health clinic, annually volunteers for Oral Health Month sponsored by the BC Dental Association, and has volunteered overseas doing mission work in Vietnam. Apart from her private practice, Robin finds time to teach, as a clinical instructor for dental hygienists and assistants, and also UBC dentistry students during their Pediatric Dentistry Module.

When not at work, you can find her running, swimming, and on old-school games leagues playing Dodgeball and Capture the Flag. Robin's fun and relaxed attitude will guarantee your dental visit will feel more like a visit with a friend.
TOM DO
During the months of June and July, Kits Family Dental will be welcoming Dr. Tom Do as the Locum Dentist while Dr. Robin Mak is out of town.

Dr. Do and Dr. Mak went to Dental school together at UBC and have remained friends and colleagues ever since. Dr. Do has been a Vancouver Resident for 14 years and a Dentist for 6 of those years. Dr. Do is a very gentle and caring person and that translates very well to his work in dentistry. His personality and experience make him a natural for kid’s dentistry. As well as being a very patient and relaxed person, he has the practical experience of parenting his own three young children. Another of Dr. Do's interests is Ultimate Frisbee, he is a Former UBC varsity ultimate player.

Dr. Do will be available Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays to take care of all current patients, dental emergencies, and also see new patients.

KATHERINE - Office Manager
Kathy is the super organized and experienced office manager at Kits Family Dental. Her 30 years of experience in the dental field gives her the knowledge to answer any questions you may have, from your dental insurance queries, to how long it takes for your anesthetic to wear off. When not at the office, Kathy enjoys sewing gorgeous dresses, and sipping her daily coffee at Granville Island. Note: a box of chocolate will get you everywhere!!!
QUEENA - Receptionist
Our receptionist with the sweetest voice! Queena is the one that will book your appointments, and always calls to remind you to show up. She's so sweet that even when she's asking for payment, you will happily hand it over. She will also take care of your insurance coverage and claims so you won't have to worry about a thing. She is currently an undergrad student at SFU planning to major in Sociology and Women's Studies. After her classes at school, and a day at the office, she enjoys doing hundreds of lunges at BootCamp. Music and art is also one of Queena's biggest interests. On a day off, you would probably find her at home painting on canvas or walking around the beach with her ipod on.
LESLEY - Dental Assistant
Lesley was born & raised in Vancouver and graduated from the certified dental assisting program at Vancouver Community College. She is committed to providing patient education, comfort, and assists Dr. Mak during patient care procedures. If you are nervous about your treatment or uneasy about being at the dentist, don't be! She will distract you with her friendly banter about random pop culture scandals or the latest Canucks trade/rumour. Lesley is dedicated to keeping current in the field of dentistry by taking continuing education courses and attending events to further her professional development. When she's not at work, you can find her at the relaxing at beach, working off stresses at bootcamp and channelling her inner-Martha Stewart & baking up yummy desserts! Get on her good side by flossing. BTW: she can tell when you're fibbing about it!
